Disable Slack Wysiwyg
Disable Slack Wysiwyg is a Chrome add-on developed by Ross Jacobs. It falls under the category of Browsers and specifically belongs to the Add-ons & Tools subcategory. As the name suggests, this program disables Slack's new wysiwyg text editor.
Slack, a popular communication platform, recently introduced a "WYSIWYG text input" widget to its web browser interface. However, many users have found the user experience of this new input method to be extremely poor. Slack made this change permanently for all users without providing an option to revert back to the previous text formatting using markdown.
To address this issue, Kevin Fahy created a script that allows users to disable the new wysiwyg editor. The Disable Slack Wysiwyg extension is an adaptation of Fahy's script and can be found on GitHub. Users who are interested in seeing this extension in action can refer to the provided screenshot.
Please note that as of the update on December 18, 2019, the script this extension is based on no longer works. Users who wish to contribute to fixing this issue can refer to the GitHub issue linked in the description.
